  • warranty repair complaint



    I renewed my warranty on a GE washer this past fall. Previously I had to use the warranty for a repair, and it was a huge repair, the entire drum. Service was slow and took 2 weeks. This time around, they say they "cannot find my contract" , yet I used their own envelope and return letter and material to send in my renewal with my check. I dont believe for a minute they cant find the contract- i believe they threw it away, even along with the 25$ payment (that way I can never find my cancelled check- but its worth it FOR THEM in the long run.   • Broken Fridge



    After one month of suffering without a working fridge, my husband taking 3 different days off work, the fridge is still not working and now we are being asked to pay $787.64 for a new fridge plus delivery. This fridge is 'new' in the sense that it was never used and installed in 2007 as part of a condo renovation. We moved in a month ago- it was a problem from day one.   • Gag- $800 with warranty



    Problem: I moved into a condo that was renovated in 2007. Fridge is 2 years old, but brand new (never used). We moved in one month ago and found out that it freezes everything. Supposedly the problem parts were covered under warranty, but 3-4 trips out later by mechanics from GE and almost all replaceable parts replaced- and still broken! Husband had to take off 3 separate days because they will only schedule in 4 hour block 'windows'- and kept reassuring us it was 'fixable' so we were accomodating.     We used to have GE extended warranties for all our appliances. It used to be a good value. I even got a dead fridge replaced for shipping costs. Then, recently, I needed a repair, and found out I could no longer schedule it online, but had to call an 800 number and talk to someone not in this country.     I bought a toshiba tv 50" along with the GE extended warrenty, that was July 2006. Feb 14 2009 the TV went out, I have been fighting ever since with the warrenty co. They sent someone out with a new lamp, it worked about 6 hours and went out, then they said it needed a whole new "brain board", they couldn't locate one, I called finally and was told they did locate one but it would be 5 -6 weeks before it came in.     My parents are 83 and 86 and have had warranties with GE for many years. In February their Convection Microwave went out and couldn't be fixed. The rep told my mom they could not find someone to install the new unit they sent to her and she had a credt of $679 and $100 installatin and should go buy one and have it installed by the company (in this case Sears) she bought it from. She did this and when she called to ask when they would be picking up the one they delviered to her, they told her she had a $150 restock fee.   • stove warranty



    My DCS stove quit working in October, 2008. Repairman & company finally determined that stove could not be repaired and so advised GE Warranty late November. I have had such a horrible time with General Electric Warranty. First the claim was under review, then approved, then denied, then they agreed to send a check for $4729.00.
